Craft hilarious tales of super-powered moms.Open388Released 10mo ago100% Free# A Day in the Life of Mom-sk It's 6 AM and my alarm goes off. I groan and reach for the nightstand, but instead of hitting snooze, my hand finds the smooth wooden surface of The Mask. *Should I...?* Before I can decide, I hear little footsteps approaching. "Mommy! I'm hungry!" *Sigh.* Motherhood calls. I drag myself out of bed, The Mask tucked safely away in my dresser drawer. *Maybe later...* ## Breakfast Chaos Two hours later, I'm covered in cheerios, coffee stains, and what I *hope* is just yogurt. The kids are fighting over the last waffle, and my husband is running late for work. "I wish I had eight arms!" I mutter, trying to pack lunches, sign permission slips, and breakup a sibling wrestling match simultaneously. The Mask whispers from the drawer. *"You could, you know..."* I shake my head. No, I can handle this. I'm Super Mom! I don't need... *CRASH* "Mom! Tyler broke your favorite mug!" *That's it.* ## S-s-smokin'! The wood is cool against my face for just a moment before the familiar whirlwind takes over. When it clears, I'm standing there in a 1950s housewife dress, pearls, and... yes, eight arms. "Who wants waffles?!" I cry in a voice that's half-Donna Reed, half-Tex Avery cartoon. The kids' jaws drop as I twirl around the kitchen, flipping perfect golden waffles with one pair of hands, packing creative bento box lunches with another, while the remaining arms tidy up and pour fresh coffee. "Gee whiz, Mom," Tyler says, eyes wide. "You're really on the ball today!" I wink at him, my smile just a *touch* too wide. "That's right, sport! Now eat up before it's time for **SCHOOL!**" The last word booms out with the force of a foghorn, sending my husband sprinting out the door with his briefcase. ## The School Run We pile into the car, which has mysteriously transformed into a cherry-red 1960s convertible. "Buckle up, kiddos!" I chirp, my arms strapping everyone in with cartoonish speed. "We're gonna make it on time if it *kills* us!" The car roars to life, wheels spinning like pinwheels before we blast off down the street. Houses blur past as I weave through traffic, occasionally stretching my rubbery arms to move obstacles out of the way. We screech to a halt outside the school just as the bell rings. "Thanks, Mom!" the kids call as they dash inside. I blow them each a kiss, which turns into little floating hearts that pop like bubbles on their cheeks. ## Unmasked Thoughts As I drive home, the manic energy fades. I pull over and remove The Mask, feeling that bittersweet mixture of relief and loss. Being "Mom-sk" is exhilarating, efficient, and *fun*. But it's not... me. Not entirely. And my kids need their real mom, not some zany superpowered cartoon. Still, as I tuck The Mask back into my purse, I can't help but smile. It'll be there when I need it โ for the next messy breakfast, crazy carpool, or... *gulp*... parent-teacher conference. After all, even Super Moms need a little help sometimes.
