And they never let their family out of their sight. My experience has been totally fantastic — she's sweet, great with kids, and very good-natured about other animals. It was a surprisingly simple task to train her, thanks to her pleasure-loving nature and elevated intelligence quotient. She is playful and full of energy at playtime but peaceful and loving at resting times. Her loving disposition and emotional sensitivity often cause her to view herself more as part of the family than as an animal. Something to watch out for: she does need regular grooming and feeds on social interaction, so she's ideal for someone who can devote time, attention, and care to her. Bottom line: If you want a devoted, loving, and well-adjusted dog, a female Golden Retriever is an excellent choice.
