### Lesson One Activity: Learn to Communicate
1. Put these dialogues in order:
**Dialogue A**
1. You're never here!
2. More criticism! You spend your time criticizing what I do!
3. You misunderstood, I just wish I could spend more time with you.
4. Excuse me, you did well to talk to me, I will be careful.
**Dialogue B**
1. I wanted to ask you... Could you help me with math? I didn't understand the lesson.
2. You suck, it's very easy.
3. Excuse me, I'm stupid, tell me: what don't you understand?
4. In that case, I'll manage on my own.
**Dialogue C**
1. Jerk!
2. You're stupid yourself!
3. You'll see at recess!
4. STOP! We're starting over: why exactly are you mad at me?
2. Improve communication:
| Harmful communication | Improved communication |
|------------------------|-------------------------|
| Give me your pen! | Could I please borrow your pen? |
| You spend your time blaming me! | I feel hurt when I hear criticism. Can we talk about this calmly? |
| I didn't understand the exercise, give me the answer. | I'm having trouble with this exercise. Could you help explain it to me? |
| Leave me alone! | I need some space right now. Can we talk later? |
3. Role play: Expressing needs without language
- For "I am very thirsty": Mime drinking from a glass and point to your throat
- For "I'm cold": Rub your arms and shiver
- For "I'm sad": Make a sad face and mime wiping tears
- For "No, I don't want to": Shake your head and hold up your hand in a "stop" gesture
4. Time for philosophical debate!
