## Volume 1: The Concealed Blade
Ereidur arrives in Conceição de Macabu, a remote village seeking a champion for the upcoming clan tournament. After saving the village elder's grandson from bandits, Ereidur learns of the oppression faced by common folk. He volunteers as their representative, seeing a chance to infiltrate the competition and search for his lost love Scarlet.
As the tournament begins, Ereidur faces increasingly difficult opponents, each wielding unique jutsu. He struggles against ninja who can manipulate fire, water, and even shadows themselves. With each victory, Ereidur begins to tap into a mysterious power within himself.
In the quarter-finals, Ereidur battles a kunoichi with the ability to control minds. As she probes his thoughts, fragmented memories of the village massacre resurface. Ereidur's anguish unleashes a burst of chakra that shatters her jutsu and wins him the match.
The volume climaxes with Ereidur facing the previous year's runner-up - a mountain of a man who can harden his skin to iron. Ereidur's normal techniques are useless. Just as defeat seems certain, Ereidur awakens a fraction of his hidden power. His speed and strength multiply exponentially, allowing him to crack his opponent's armor and advance to the semi-finals.
## Epilogue
As Ereidur rests between rounds, he overhears officials discussing the tournament's true purpose - to identify those with special abilities and eliminate them before they can challenge the shogun. Ereidur realizes he's walked into a trap, but knows he must press on if he hopes to find Scarlet and free Japan from tyranny.
