# The Clapping in the Dark
I'll never forget the night I heard the clapping. It was a sound that sent shivers down my spine and made my heart race with fear. I was home alone, lying in bed, when suddenly I heard the unmistakable sound of clapping coming from downstairs.
At first, I thought it was just the TV or someone outside, but as the clapping continued, I realized it was coming from *within my house*. I froze, my heart pounding in my chest. Who could be clapping in the dark?
I hesitantly got out of bed and began to make my way down the stairs, the clapping growing louder with each step. As I reached the bottom, I saw that the room was dark, except for a faint light coming from the corner.
That's when I saw it. A figure, tall and imposing, standing in the shadows, its face hidden behind a hood. Its hands were clasped together, and it was clapping with an eerie rhythm.
I tried to scream, but my voice was stuck in my throat. The figure stopped clapping and raised its head, as if it had sensed my presence. I felt a chill run down my spine as our eyes met.
The figure began to move towards me, its clapping growing louder and more intense. I tried to run, but my legs were frozen in place. I was trapped, and the figure was closing in on me.
Suddenly, the lights flickered on, and the figure vanished. The clapping stopped, and the room was silent once again.
I was left standing there, shaken and confused. It was then that I realized I wasn't alone in the house. **The clapping in the dark was just the beginning...**
