Candy.ai Review: A Simple Tool That Fell Behind. I’ve used Candy.ai for more than two years and have been part of its community for a long time. For a while, I genuinely liked it, mainly because of how simple and easy to use the site was. The interface is straightforward, there’s very little friction, and it doesn’t overwhelm new users with complexity. That simplicity was its biggest strength. Unfortunately, that same site is now something I can no longer recommend. Candy.ai presents itself as an AI companion / NSFW AI platform with strong marketing and a clean visual style. On the surface, it looks polished and beginner-friendly, and for casual users, it can work initially. The problem isn’t the idea. It’s the execution over time. Compared to other NSFW AI platforms, Candy.ai is by far one of the slowest in terms of updates. Major improvements take months, sometimes longer, and when updates do arrive, they rarely improve core functionality or user experience. Instead, most updates focus on monetization, not features. Over the past years, competing platforms have: "Improved memory systems" "Added richer customization" "Enhanced conversation depth" "Refined UI and performance" Candy.ai has largely stayed the same..... Monetization-First, User-Last.. This is where Candy.ai really loses trust. The platform uses multiple scam-adjacent marketing tactics, including: "Intentionally overpriced tokens, so discounts feel “generous”" "Constant sales and urgency pressure" "A 70% off first subscription offer that appears permanent and resets repeatedly" "Confusing pricing structures that don’t reflect real value" These tactics don’t feel accidental, they feel designed to push impulse purchases rather than reward loyal users. If Candy.ai were competing in a vacuum, it might still be acceptable. But once you try any modern alternative, the gap becomes obvious: "Worse content depth" "Fewer features" "Slower progress" "Less transparent communication" At this point, Candy.ai feels years behind the market. What makes this especially disappointing is that Candy.ai had a loyal community. Many long-term users wanted to support the platform and see it grow. Instead, communication is minimal, development feels directionless, and decisions increasingly prioritize short-term revenue over long-term trust. Overall Impression. Candy.ai feels less like a carefully maintained product and more like: "An experimental platform" "Or a low-effort revenue project" "Possibly a testbed for a larger company" That may not be the intent, but that’s how it comes across to experienced users. Final Verdict. Candy.ai is easy to use, but no longer competitive. If you’re completely new to AI companion platforms, it might seem fine at first. But if you care about: "Active development" "Fair pricing" "Transparent practices" "Meaningful updates" There are significantly better options available today.
