Lume

Lume is a sculptural floor lamp that transforms into a robotic arm to handle household chores. When idle, it functions as a premium floor lamp with adaptive focus and ambient lighting. When activated by voice or smartphone app, it reveals a six-axis robotic arm with ClearTouch® transparent glass-like interface that combines vision, manipulation, and light into one integrated lampshade. Currently handles soft-material chores: laundry folding, bed making, and pillow resetting. Uses computer vision and vision-language-action (VLA) models for object recognition and manipulation, with LLMs for garment identification. On-device AI processing on an Nvidia Jetson Orin-class board. Personalization Band® learns user preferences during onboarding. Crafted from anodized aluminum with high-gloss finishes. No subscription for first batch — lifetime software updates with new chore capabilities added over time. Future app store planned for additional capabilities.
