1-bit Bonsai Image 4B

By PrismML
1-bit Bonsai Image 4B is one of PrismML’s two Bonsai Image 4B variants, announced on 26-05-2026. It is built from FLUX.2 Klein 4B and keeps the architecture intact while compressing transformer weights into binary {-1, +1} form with FP16 group-wise scaling, giving 1.125 effective bits per weight. This variant targets maximum compression, reducing the diffusion-transformer footprint to 0.93 GB, or 8.3x smaller than the FP16 FLUX.2 Klein 4B transformer, while retaining 88% of FLUX.2 Klein 4B benchmark performance across PrismML’s listed evaluations. It is intended for local image generation, including Apple Silicon iPhones, iPads, Macs, and CUDA GPUs, with planned open weights and code under Apache 2.0.
