Claude Mythos 5 is Anthropic’s restricted Mythos-class model, launched on 09-06-2026 for a small group of trusted cyberdefenders and infrastructure providers through Project Glasswing, with broader trusted access planned. It is the same underlying model as Claude Fable 5, but with safeguards lifted in some areas for approved users, especially cybersecurity. Anthropic describes it as having the strongest cybersecurity capabilities of any model in the world, while also highlighting advanced usefulness for life-sciences research, protein design, molecular-biology hypothesis generation, and long-horizon autonomous genomics work. Unlike Fable 5, Mythos 5 is not generally available and is limited to trusted access because of dual-use risks.
