Earth 2 CorrDiff

By NVIDIA
Model family: Earth
CorrDiff (Correction Diffusion) is Earth-2’s super-resolution and downscaling engine. It takes inputs like GEFS or CMIP6 fields at roughly 25 km resolution and uses a two-step regression-plus-diffusion process to generate high-resolution, bias-corrected weather and climate data at about 2–3 km. Deployed as a NIM microservice, it can run hundreds of times faster and orders of magnitude more efficiently than conventional high-res simulations, enabling dense local ensembles for extreme-weather risk analysis.

Overview

Earth-2 CorrDiff is a generative correction-diffusion model that downscales coarse forecasts and climate projections into kilometer-scale, bias-corrected fields up to 500x faster and around 10,000x more energy efficient than traditional methods.
