ESMFold2

ESMFold2 is Biohub’s protein-structure prediction model in the ESM protein biology system. It predicts protein structure from amino acid sequence and was used to expand ESM Atlas into a large map of protein biology, with reporting describing 6.8 billion proteins and 1.1 billion predicted structures. Nature describes the new open-source atlas as generated by ESMFold2 and says it vastly increases the known protein universe. Biohub frames the overall release as a “world model of protein biology” for protein prediction, design, discovery, function mapping, and therapeutic research, though therapeutic use would still require downstream validation and safety testing.
