Gemma Scope 2 is Google DeepMind’s open interpretability suite of sparse autoencoders and transcoders for Gemma 3, letting researchers inspect features and circuits across all layers to study safety-relevant behavior.
Description
Gemma Scope 2 provides a full stack of JumpReLU sparse autoencoders, cross-layer transcoders and tools for every layer and sublayer of Gemma 3 models from 270M to 27B. It enables circuit-level analysis of concepts like jailbreaks or hallucinations, supports interactive visualization, and is released openly to help the safety community understand how Gemma models represent and transform information internally.
