PP-OCRv6 is the latest generation of PaddleOCR’s universal text recognition solution. It uses a redesigned PPLCNetV4 unified backbone and comes in tiny, small, and medium tiers for edge/IoT, mobile/desktop, and server use cases. The medium and small tiers support 50 languages in a single unified model, including Chinese, English, Japanese, and 46 Latin-script languages, while the tiny tier supports 49 languages. The system targets high-speed multilingual text spotting, document OCR, scene text recognition, and production OCR pipelines with model sizes from roughly 1.5M to 34.5M parameters.
