v0-1.0-md was Vercel's first generation composite model powering v0, its AI tool for generating full-stack web applications. It uses Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 3.7 as its base LLM for code generation, paired with a retrieval system that pulls in current documentation, UI examples, and project context, plus a custom AutoFix model that catches and corrects errors, formatting issues, and best-practice violations mid-stream. A separate Quick Edit model handles small, targeted edits without invoking the full base model. v0-1.0-md accepts text and image input, such as screenshots, Figma designs, or sketches, and outputs working code with a 128K token context window. It has since been superseded in v0 by the v0-1.5 model family, which uses Claude Sonnet 4 as its base model and achieves higher error-free generation rates.
