Punyo
About
A soft, humanoid research robot designed for whole-body manipulation, using arms, chest, and compliant materials to handle large, heavy, and complex objects safely alongside humans.
Specs
Punyo is a soft robotic system with compliant arms, chest, and tactile sensing using air-filled “bubbles” connected to pressure sensors. It combines rigid robotic arms and torso with soft materials to enable safe, contact-rich manipulation. It uses visuotactile sensing, internal cameras in “paws,” and advanced learning methods such as diffusion policy and reinforcement learning, with teleoperation interfaces including gamepad and motion capture control.
