Soulkyn has been the best AI service I've used. I've been a premium user for a year now and the dev team (of 1 person!) and CEO have continued to improve the site and remain active in the community and discord. They continually update the chat model for improved user experience, and despite the occasional set back and need to roll back to an earlier model, the chat quality continues to improve. I personally appreciate that they want the user experience to improve. There are no copyrighted characters allowed, so the site only has original characters instead of a flood of the same anime girl. I'll continue supporting Soulkyn as it's only improved since I've started using it.

Sweetr feels too limited to stand out in the companion AI space. On the free plan, you only get 100 messages per week, which disappears quickly. The memory is minimal, holding on to just two messages at a time, so conversations lose continuity almost immediately. Responses are short, averaging only 10–30 words, which makes chats feel clipped and shallow. Voice calls exist, but they’re locked behind a $9.99 monthly paywall, and there’s no option to input forced memory to help the AI retain important details. Without those essentials, the experience feels restrictive and not very immersive. When compared to Character AI, Sweetr doesn’t come close. Character AI offers richer conversations, stronger memory, and far more flexibility without these limitations. For Sweetr to improve, it would need to expand memory, open up calls more fairly, and allow users more control over personalization. Right now, it feels too basic and boxed in.

The pictures are on the level of something you'd see 3 years ago. The girls there are named after weird categories like Social Justice Lawyer and Wine Master as opposed to just having real names. Wanting to give it a fair shake, I did strike up a conversation, and was met by stilted dialog on the level of GPT 3. Don't bother with this lazy attempt. Also, there's no option to delete your account.
