MolmoAct 2 is Ai2’s upgraded open Action Reasoning Model for embodied manipulation, built on Molmo 2-ER, a specialized embodied-reasoning variant of Molmo 2. It pairs that reasoning backbone with a dedicated flow-matching action expert connected through a KV-cache bridge, adds an open FAST-style action tokenizer, and introduces an optional adaptive-depth “Think” mode for stronger 3D spatial reasoning. Ai2 says it runs up to 37x faster than MolmoAct, includes baked-in bimanual skills, and achieves strong results in simulation, zero-shot real-world tests, and post-training benchmarks like LIBERO.

MolmoAct 2 is Ai2’s open robotics foundation model for real-world robot manipulation.
