Opus 5
On coding and knowledge work benchmarks, Opus 5 sets a new high mark for the Opus tier, more than doubling Opus 4.8's score on Frontier-Bench and landing within half a percent of Fable 5's best CursorBench result, at roughly half the cost per task. It also triples the next best model's score on ARC-AGI 3, a test of solving genuinely novel problems.
The model shows clear gains in scientific work too, particularly organic chemistry and protein function prediction, and produces noticeably better visual output for things like diagrams, slides, and interactive builds.
Beyond raw scores, early access users highlight Opus 5's judgment: it verifies its own work, catches mistakes during planning rather than after the fact, and handles long, open ended tasks with less hand holding than earlier models.
Overview
