About
HELIOS is a four-armed humanoid robot prototype designed for orbital operations aboard space stations. Instead of legs, it uses four arms for locomotion, stabilization, and manipulation in microgravity, aiming to reduce astronauts’ workload by handling cargo, inventory, and maintenance tasks.
Specs
Four-arm humanoid architecture; tendon-driven arms; motors positioned near shoulders to reduce moving mass; rolling-contact elbow joints; designed specifically for microgravity locomotion and manipulation; supports teleoperation, imitation learning, and autonomous task execution.
