Hello Martin, We’re sorry you had this experience. We just launched this app, and due to the high costs of AI, image generation, and narration - we decided to limit free accounts to no continuations. However, we’re working on a way to allow free users more stories and more continuations, and once it’s ready we can award your account with free credits to try it out! DreamTavern does at least give users some room to try the service out, with 75 free daily messages before hitting the subscription wall. That’s more generous than many competitors. But the cracks show quickly. There’s no calling function, and the subscription model $9.99 per month for unlimited messages—feels too barebones for the price. The platform also lacks proper tagging for models, making discovery awkward, and the limited male variety makes it feel unbalanced for users seeking more options. To improve, DreamTavern should expand its male character selection, refine its model tagging, and add immersive features like calling. Compared with Character AI, which offers depth, diversity, and memory, DreamTavern still feels half-baked.
