The filters are limited and frankly the worst selection you could have gone for - Nationality??!! Really???!! Two 'tiers' of "Pro" presented visually but you get redirected to the same exact itch.io payment page at the higher price. This while the site boldly claim a 75% off promo. Blatant scam.

Unlimited messaging is locked behind a $19.99 monthly plan, which is steep for what’s on offer. On top of that, if you want to change the relationship dynamic with the bot, that alone costs $4.99. The whole setup feels more focused on squeezing money out of users than actually delivering a meaningful AI companion experience. For Soulmaite.io to stand a chance, it needs to open up more character options, remove these constant paywalls, and rethink its pricing model. Compared with Character AI, which gives users unlimited, immersive interactions without nickel-and-diming, Soulmaite.io doesn’t stack up.
