It is positioned as especially strong in agentic coding, computer use, knowledge work, and early scientific research, while matching GPT-5.4’s per-token latency and using significantly fewer tokens on the same Codex tasks. OpenAI rolled it out on 23-04-2026 to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users in ChatGPT and Codex.
