MiniMax M3 is MiniMax’s M-series model focused on coding, agentic workflows, long-context reasoning, and native multimodality. MiniMax says M3 uses its proprietary MiniMax Sparse Attention architecture, supports up to a 1M-token context window with a guaranteed minimum of 512K tokens, and was trained multimodally from the start rather than adding vision later. It targets AI coding assistants, autonomous task decomposition, tool invocation, multi-step reasoning, long-video understanding, and long-range agent tasks. MiniMax’s page says full open-source release on Hugging Face and GitHub is planned for local deployment and fine-tuning.
