If BoyfriendGPT wants to win users over, it needs to ease up on the paywalls, offer a real free plan with more breathing room, and rework its pricing to something reasonable. Compared with Character AI, which delivers long-term conversations and immersion without these walls, BoyfriendGPT just doesn’t stack up.

Hi Tealgreen, appreciate the honest feedback. Just to clarify — if you register for free you actually get 10 free messages with each character, so you can try them out a bit more. You can also just use Flirtcam.ai as a regular chat experience like the other AI girlfriend sites, plus it comes with custom AI image generation. The video cam part is more of an extra layer / other UX — you can switch into it whenever you want. We know the video side is still early in development and possibilities, but on a bigger screen it already feels way more personal than plain text chat.
