Once in, the shortcomings stack up quickly. There’s no proper memory in chat, no calling function, and not even a voice reading option to bring conversations to life. The credit-based system caps you at just 20 messages instead of offering unlimited use, which feels restrictive. Even basic features are missing — no dark mode, no spelling correction, and no clear way to separate actions from dialogue in chat. The result is a clunky, shallow experience. Against Character AI, Dittin doesn’t stand a chance. Where Character AI delivers immersion, clarity, and flexibility, Dittin struggles with the basics. To move forward, it needs stronger memory, proper feature development, and a more transparent pricing model. Right now, it’s not ready to compete.

Unfortunately, that potential is quickly wasted. The 240-character text limit makes real conversation impossible, there’s no calling function, and users can’t adjust or input memories for continuity. The male and female character selection is painfully limited, and all characters are straight; something users should know before jumping in. After a handful of messages, you’re forced to upgrade and pay, which kills the experience before it even starts. If Fantasy AI wants to be taken seriously in the companionship AI space, it needs to extend message length, introduce inclusive character options, add memory input, and unlock a calling feature. Right now, it doesn’t come close to what Character AI delivers in realism, diversity, or depth.

I've been a premium user for a year now and the dev team (of 1 person!) and CEO have continued to improve the site and remain active in the community and discord. They continually update the chat model for improved user experience, and despite the occasional set back and need to roll back to an earlier model, the chat quality continues to improve. I personally appreciate that they want the user experience to improve. There are no copyrighted characters allowed, so the site only has original characters instead of a flood of the same anime girl. I'll continue supporting Soulkyn as it's only improved since I've started using it.

My initial observations: - Images are alright but still kind of fake looking - The AIs immediately concede to anything you say, there's no real sense of depth or personality. - Doesn't re-focus the input box after sending a chat (on Firefox) - The AI I talked to asked if I wanted to hear her voice, to which I said yes, then she said "Sorry I don't do voice or video here." lol. Why did you ask me then? -
