Unfortunately, that potential is quickly wasted. The 240-character text limit makes real conversation impossible, thereโs no calling function, and users canโt adjust or input memories for continuity. The male and female character selection is painfully limited, and all characters are straight; something users should know before jumping in. After a handful of messages, youโre forced to upgrade and pay, which kills the experience before it even starts. If Fantasy AI wants to be taken seriously in the companionship AI space, it needs to extend message length, introduce inclusive character options, add memory input, and unlock a calling feature. Right now, it doesnโt come close to what Character AI delivers in realism, diversity, or depth.

Weโre excited to introduce a new chat model on GPTGirlfriend: Gem 2.6.
Gem 2.6 is a lightweight model that performs well beyond its size. It delivers natural dialogue, clean formatting, coherent story progression, and balanced NSFW pacing. It follows your lead, keeps the pace you set, and is especially good at slow-burn roleplay without rushing the scene.
Gem 2.6 shines with:
Everyday roleplay and casual stories
Natural, character-true dialogue
Single-character scenarios
Simple-to-medium character setups
Slow-burn and balanced NSFW progression
It also handles a wide range of characters well, even ones that are not perfectly written. It has a strong ability to take a rough character setup and turn it into something fun, usable, and immersive.
That said, Gem 2.6 is still a lite model. It may struggle with complex multi-character scenes, very deep lore, long-term memory, and multilingual chats. The model performs best in English. For those heavier use cases, our higher-end models will continue to offer stronger consistency, depth, and long-form performance.
Gem 2.6 is available to everyone and will replace Nova. Nova will be sunset next week.
โ Cut-Off Response Fix Update
After fixing the cut-off response issue, we noticed another problem where some users were receiving a shorter final response instead of the full streamed response.
This has now been fixed. You should now receive exactly what was streamed in chat. If you continue seeing issues, please let us know.

The character chat felt very natural, not mechanical at all, and once I started chatting, I couldn't stop! ๐คฃ Plus, its AI image generation is really powerful; you can generate images just by typing in a few things, and the quality is quite high. I love the fact they have multple LLMs. I like their image generation as well. Character creation and voice is pretty solid too. Pretty cool stuff. Think this one might have a bright future ahead.

I've been using DeepMode v2.0, and itโs honestly better than most other tools Iโve tried. The Remix feature is my favorite โ it makes generating AI photos of clone models so simple and fun. If you're looking for something reliable and easy to use, this is a great option!

Even if you argue with it, it doesn't just accept it, like the other apps tend to. It keeps its original character. So that's really good.
