Use words that describe the character. "A portrait photo of yourtokenword man with a beard, wearing a red shirt, sitting in a cafe" for example. Results should be great . I tried Animon for a bit and itโs actually pretty solid. It does a good job with simple animations and keeps the original image style pretty well, so the results usually look clean.

OMG! One of the worst "terms of use" i have ever seen. Basicly They we own your a**. They have every right for your creations on their platform. They can use your creations as however, whenever, whereever they want. Plus if you make money from a creation from their platform, you will end up giving them. Experimented with the image to video mode. You are limited to 8 creations per day on the free plan, a 3s preset duration and no prompt inputting as the AI analyze the image to decide the most likely possible animation. So far from the given results with eight different picture type, it clearly looks like the AI engine is more prone to animate subject rather than anything else.
