Olmo by Ai2
Overview
Olmo is a fully open language model developed by Ai2 that provides complete access to its model flow. Its variants, namely 32B-Base, 32B-Think, 32B-Instruct, 7B-Base, 7B-Think, and 7B-Instruct, deliver different levels of efficacy in areas such as programming, reading comprehension, mathematical problem-solving, and complex reasoning.
The various iterations of the model cater to different use-cases, including multi-turn dialogues, tool usage, and RL research. Emphasizing transparency in AI development, Olmo's model flow describes the life cycle of the language model from data sourcing to final application.
This includes the details of its preprocessing data, mid-training data, and post-training data. Additionally, its development asserts the usage of open-source tools such as OlmoCore for training framework, Duplodocus for de-duplication, and Datamap-rs for large-scale data cleaning.
The model also provides a utility for reproducible evaluations in the form of OLMES. In terms of performance, Olmo has proved to be a significant resource with its outputs being used in areas like clinical text analysis and studies into learning dynamics and scaling behaviors.

Building reliable, interpretable AI systemsBibash Katel🙏 69 karmaJul 16, 2024@ClaudeThe most humanly AI i have used so far but the problem is as soon as you start piling up messages in single chat session , it starts getting slow and at some point it starts freezing and also uses a lot of resources. For time being its okay to do 3 4 messages but as soon as we continue it has messages limitation and also starts getting very very slow . For the price of £18 per month this is unacceptable and with the newly introduced feature called project, if we start new chat within the project we cannot continue with the context we provided in other chats within same project. There are lot of improvements for them to work on. And to start with the its speed and its price

Frontier AI in your handsI just used for a couple of scientific tasks and its output was as good as ChatGPT 4 and Gemini Pro. This is an interesting tool and I will be exploring it further

First sub-quadratic LLM for 12M-token reasoning tasks.

Open-source AI models for customization and deployment.A huge disappointment. It fails standard tasks that Sonnet 3.5 completes with no issue. I’ll be skipping this version.
