As a student, I regularly work with research papers and long PDFs. PodcastorAI has been a helpful way to turn that content into something I can listen to while commuting or walking. Really solid on Windows. I’ve tried several similar transcription tools before, but this one feels much better integrated into the system. The customizable global shortcuts are a game changer, you can either just do plain transcription or trigger your own custom prompts/actions with Adifferent hotkeys. A lot of competitors do Aroughly the same thing, but EchoWrite stands out because the basic transcription is essentially free (you just need your own OpenAI API key, which costs next to nothing). If you want the custom prompts and translations, it’s a one-time payment instead of yet another subscription. In 2026 that’s actually pretty fair compared to everything else out there. Big thumbs up.

It's very easy to use, completely free, and even supports files up to 1GB in size.

I'm giving it two stars because it does do an ok job on videos but I would NOT recommend this. The "free trial" gives you 80 credits. It's not even enough to make a 60 second video so you can't really "trial" anything. I then spent $35 to make a 60 second video and I did two edits to it and I only have 451 credits left for the month. Until the costs come down, this is not feasible.

i love it i use it to teach me Italian and ukranian and programing ! and it awesome , because it allows you in the free version send many prints of your screen , not having to explain all the errors by typing diferent from gpt that you can only send 3 photos in the free version. i also use grok to study i frist make the exercise in my book then i take a photo of my exercise then i ask it to see if there is any mistake and dissipate my terryble handwriting it understands

WriteTone is a spark in the margins, it snaps verbs awake, nudges cadence into place, then steps back. Not a sculptor, more a metronome. Great when your draft needs oxygen.

Really impressed with audien.to so far. I dropped in a meeting recording and got a clean transcript plus useful notes in just a few minutes, without having to tweak much. The speaker tags and filler cleanup make it way easier to share with the team.

Been using it for the past few days and it is exactly what I hoped it was. Nothing complicated, does exactly what it says it does without the fluff. The analysis section is great, does not produce canned summaries. It appears to be doing something different for every different type of topic, which is great. Still playing with it.
