Honestly SurfSense is amazing, I use it almost every morning to get an mp3/podcast of my Gmail, Gcal and urgent Linear tickets so I know exactly what's going on that day. It's also insane for board games because I just throw the rulebooks in and share it with my friends so we can chat with the AI together to figure out how to play. And it is scarily good at untangling and explaining really complex rules when we encounter some weird situation!

I’ve purchased boilerplates before but honestly this is by FAR the most thorough and useful. I mean check out the documentation alone. Not a very good experience. There are a lot of screenshots of what is supposed to happen when you record or upload audio, but the functionality is very clunky. I had to upload the same audio file 5 times before it appeared in the dashboard. The experience is even worse on a mobile phone. So I am still looking for a quick audio to text AI tool and one that I can get the transcription in multiple languages.

No free use because I use a VPN?? I'm out. I should have a choice to stay private if I want to and still be able to review the product without penalty. Others allow it - I will use them before buying. If you have that big of an issue with what you feel are multiple accounts using your free services, then reduce the amount of free use.

I was just trying to get a quick graph showing population evolution over the last 30 years, didn’t have the dataset ready, so I was hoping the tool could auto-fill something reasonable. But it literally gave me three values. Three?? For 30 years?? What kind of trend can I possibly see with that? If the tool offers to research the data, it should at least offer a full timeline. And when I pasted the data I found, it created a literally bar chart???

Either I write like AI, or this tool is really bad at telling the difference. I question these detectors, especially when you give them something you know you wrote and they claim it is 80% AI-generated. I tested it by pasting in something I wrote entirely on my own, without using AI. I didn’t even proofread it, just ran a basic spell check, and that was it. The tool still claimed that 80% of it was written by AI. Then it rewrites the supposedly “AI-generated” text using AI, which essentially makes it AI-written. 😆 That’s kind of a weird concept.
