A lot of competitors do Aroughly the same thing, but EchoWrite stands out because the basic transcription is essentially free (you just need your own OpenAI API key, which costs next to nothing). If you want the custom prompts and translations, it’s a one-time payment instead of yet another subscription. In 2026 that’s actually pretty fair compared to everything else out there. Big thumbs up.

OpenThere is nothing like that out there, especially with a high voice-based translation quality (including with specific terminology). As the Product Manager, I am a bit biased, but I still think it is great for live interpretation :) -
I've tried to give this thing a chance and the people running it the benefit of the doubt but at this point I give up. I'm 20 bucks in and I can confidently say it's a fucking scam. NO IMPROVEMENTS PAST THE FIRST WEEK. THE AI IS ATROCIOUS AT VOICE RECONGITION. IT keep interrupting my to tell me it's reset it's memory for absolutely no reason at all. All this on top of the fact that the 'system' counts the first second you connect to a bot as a full minute. I'd ask for a refund but I have my doubts there is anyone to ask at this point. What a fucking waste of a genuinely interesting idea.

Spokenly feels genuinely practical for people who prefer talking through ideas instead of typing everything manually. I also like that offline/local support is included since a lot of dictation tools still depend completely on the cloud.

Would recommend this to anyone. Writing things down is great, but being able to freely talk about it is even better. It gives you time to get it all out and a lot of times I feel better just by verbalizing issues out loud. I really appreciate that the report from the session reflects everything I've said in a structured way, so I don't have to worry about talking super coherently. It also provides useful insights and recommendations. The whole self-care topic has always sounded like a chore to me but I actually enjoy this.

The AI Phone helped me a lot during my last short trip. I can use it to make international calls easily without getting a sim card. When making reservations at restaurants and asking for information about scenic spots, the functions of live call captioning, highlighting information and prompting terms make me, a non-native speaker, no longer afraid of conversation. Even after hanging up the phone, I can review the information without having to grab a pen to write it down. Imagine that after you make a phone call, all the key information, such as the location of the restaurant and the phone number of the contact, are saved and highlighted in the record. What a worry-free and magical experience it is!

I have been using this app for a month on a laptop with just 4GB of VRAM, and it has been performing exceptionally well. Surprisingly, it's the only available option for local voice recognition that operates without an internet connection.
