This is one of those apps that when you use it for the first time, it feels like magic. It is one of the apps that has led to me using it the most every day. It's almost as integral to me now as ChatGPT. -
This is a great smart tool for recording memoirs. It helped me record my childhood memories from long ago, and the generated images are beautiful. They can be used as chapters in my memoirs and can be continuously updated. Oh, and I especially think the images generated from those words are amazing! This tool is also easy to use, making it suitable for seniors. Therefore, I will recommend it to my grandparents to record their special moments!! -

Really solid on Windows. I’ve tried several similar transcription tools before, but this one feels much better integrated into the system. The customizable global shortcuts are a game changer, you can either just do plain transcription or trigger your own custom prompts/actions with Adifferent hotkeys. A lot of competitors do Aroughly the same thing, but EchoWrite stands out because the basic transcription is essentially free (you just need your own OpenAI API key, which costs next to nothing). If you want the custom prompts and translations, it’s a one-time payment instead of yet another subscription. In 2026 that’s actually pretty fair compared to everything else out there. Big thumbs up.

Today, when I accessed the beta version of Kin, I got a notification stating that the test version ended on Monday, September 23rd. It instructed me to back up my data and move to the official Kin app. I did as advised—backed up my data, confirmed, uninstalled the beta app via TestFlight, and installed the official Kin app. However, when I attempted to “log in”, I was still unable to access my existing account. This issue hasn't been resolved yet. I have been trying desperately to get in contact with the support team. I left feedback through the test flight app and sent emails. No response. The maximum podcast duration is 10 minutes only. Whereas, with NotebookLM, the maximum is 35 minutes, and it's free. They need to increase the duration of the podcasts to at least 30 minutes. Also, definitely more than 200 minutes a month.

I really enjoy Article Reader AI, it's a no-frills article/pdf converter to narrated audio. The voices are excellent and there are no crazy expensive yearly commitment to use it. Perfect for multitasking and staying productive during my busy days!

Not a very good experience. There are a lot of screenshots of what is supposed to happen when you record or upload audio, but the functionality is very clunky. I had to upload the same audio file 5 times before it appeared in the dashboard. The experience is even worse on a mobile phone. So I am still looking for a quick audio to text AI tool and one that I can get the transcription in multiple languages.

Others allow it - I will use them before buying. If you have that big of an issue with what you feel are multiple accounts using your free services, then reduce the amount of free use.

Their customer service is what saves this. I attempt to use the software, and offered a free trial for a professional voice clone, however one signed up it required me to pay in order to try what was offered as free. I figured I would try it anyways, paid for the software, tried it out. The voices do not offer good emotional quality and sounded extremely robotic. Customer service did offer me a full refund once I explain the situation and how it would not work for my use case. I wish to see further reiterations of this, it has potential, it’s just not there yet.

Great AI voices, though still monotonous and robotic, or rather too neutral, with almost zero voice inflections! Excellent to read news, articles, essays, and any nonfiction books. BTW, computers should be allowed to TALK to us for free, like in the Star Trek TV series. Our future grandchildren will laugh at us for "paying" to use this everyday option, biting the hook to "monthly subscriptions" like gullible fish and then getting up to 1,000 words per month" under the so-called Pro version ;-) This is crazy!

Currently, the website provides free text-to-speech (TTS) with emotions without requiring registration. You can generate 50,000 characters using generic Microsoft voices which are available also within any ReadAloud/Read out Loud apps. However, these voices lack emotion, but you can generate 5,000 characters with emotion per generation for free. Firstly, you have to select a voice, preview it, and then select it - paste your text or write it down and after a few minutes, you can listen and download it for free. However, the website's reviews are likely fake, suggesting that this free service might not last long.

Subject: Looking for a free tool for meeting transcription with speaker identification
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a tool that allows me to transcribe an audio recording of an in-person meeting (not via computer, but recorded with a mobile phone). I need the tool not only to automatically transcribe the audio but also to be able to identify and distinguish the different speakers, so that I know who said what.
Additionally, it would be very helpful if the same tool could assist in summarizing the discussion and generating a brief meeting report, perhaps including the agreed-upon actions and the key points discussed.
If there's a free tool that meets these requirements, that would be even better!
