RolePlai does deserve a nod for offering unlimited messaging on the free plan, which is more than many rivals give. But the problems pile up fast. The forced sign-in is annoying enough, and once inside, the web UI feels like an outdated forum. There’s no calling or TTS function, bots are limited, and chats forget context after only 10 messages—immersion gone. Add in the lack of a persona system, an irritating character limit per message, and no option to revert or edit once sent, and the experience becomes frustrating. To make matters worse, there’s no way to delete your account, raising serious concerns about user control. For RolePlai to stand a chance against Character AI, it needs a complete overhaul: modern UI, stronger memory, editable and deletable options, and core features like calling and TTS. Until then, it feels frozen in time.
