I'm a Senior SWE with ~8 years of experience in front end and full stack development. I signed up for this tool after leaving my most recent role as the promise of saving 8 hours per week filling out job application forms seemed like a no brainer. Prepping for SWE interviews - especially senior - is incredibly time consuming any optimizations to that process to give more time to practice is invaluable. My expectations were tempered going in, and I was hoping for ~1 - 2 new interview every other week to augment my own efforts. I was blown away by the results, and was regularly receiving 3 - 5 interview requests weekly. CVGist is different from other AI tools in that all you need to do is write one paragraph about yourself and it does the rest.

You need an Open AI Api Key, but when you put it in and click Save it says it needs to be 10 characters or more. It Definitely was 10 char's or more. So, gave up on it.

There is nothing about it until after you post your resume - I will have nothing to do with it.

Tried it. No idea what it's supposed to do. It mentioned things that weren't on my resume. Not very useful.

Been a user since Sept 2023. It's a chrome extension. Also allows for one-click apply on lots of job forms too. When it works it's great and frees up a lot of time. But due to website updates, etc it might randomly stop working and then support is nearly impossible to reach, takes about 5-7 messages for them to responds resulting lots of lost time. Needs much better/responsive support to be a great tool.

great tool. no keyword BS, just write your talents, who you really are, how you'd like to work, and your job environment. you get matched by an AI based on how similar those things are to the job descriptions. then you'll get a nice summary of each job, so you can skim them easily. and if you're interested, you can still read the whole description. recommend!
