The customizable global shortcuts are a game changer, you can either just do plain transcription or trigger your own custom prompts/actions with different hotkeys. A lot of competitors do roughly the same thing, but EchoWrite stands out because the basic transcription is essentially free (you just need your own OpenAI API key, which costs next to nothing). If you want the custom prompts and translations, it’s a one-time payment instead of yet another subscription. In 2026 that’s actually pretty fair compared to everything else out there. Big thumbs up. -

I've tried to give this thing a chance and the people running it the benefit of the doubt but at this point I give up. I'm 20 bucks in and I can confidently say it's a fucking scam. NO IMPROVEMENTS PAST THE FIRST WEEK. THE AI IS ATROCIOUS AT VOICE RECONGITION. IT keep interrupting my to tell me it's reset it's memory for absolutely no reason at all. All this on top of the fact that the 'system' counts the first second you connect to a bot as a full minute. I'd ask for a refund but I have my doubts there is anyone to ask at this point. What a fucking waste of a genuinely interesting idea.

While it does write your notes it only transcribes no audio. and it doesn’t even allow for you to update the title or a description of the recording. Lastly, the section items section doesn’t work.

I can't tell if people involved with this kind of shit are dishonest pieces of shit or just really fucking stupid. It takes two seconds to find out this app charges you yet the dumbasses on here obviously didn't take the time out to check so they misleadingly put no pricing. Yeah, Chatgot is really amazing. I used it for over two months, it was really precise and helpful with every kind of question. I used to ask it to explain math problems to me, and any other questions. It gave detailed and comprehensive explanations. It used to be free, but now it is premium so I can't use it anymore. Overall, it's really great.
